Rick Gillit has a court date on
April 7th.
Should we really elect him to City Council on
April 1st ??
(It’s true. Read on.)
If Rick Gillit can’t be trusted with his own finances, why should Colorado Springs voters trust him with ours?
In 2018, Scott Robbins Inc loaned Gillit $240,000, with steep contractual penalties if Gillit didn’t meet the agreed-upon repayment schedule.

In 2023, after years of spotty payment history, Scott Robbins Inc. sued Gillit in state court.

In 2024, the judge awarded Scott Robbins Inc $1,519,163.86, accruing at a rate of 45% annually.

1.5 million dollars accruing at 45% annually. That’s almost $700,000 in interest this year alone.

So far, Gillit has refused to comply. That’s why the judge ordered him to appear in court on April 7, 2025, “to show cause why sanctions and/or imprisonment should not be imposed.”

Do we really want Gillit in charge of our city’s finances?
